The Planning Commission for Clinton Township (Wayne County, PA) will be reviewing a proposal for a proposed data center in an open meeting:
When: Thursday, May 7, at 7 PM
Where: 1799 White Oak Drive, Forest City, PA 18421
From Keenan S. Gruver, Founder and Acting Director, Known Grove Sacred Land Stewardship:
As far as we have been able to discover, the proposal is being brought forward by the Linde Corporation.
The land held by Linde Corp in Clinton township is a 743 acre plot of forested wetland feeding directly into the Lackawanna River, less than 1 mile from the center of Forest City. The abutting property is several thousand acres of wetland conserved for biodiversity (Camp Freedom).
We are still gathering information, but we need as many people as possible to show up at this meeting and speak out against the destruction of our ecosystems and shared environment.
Known Grove Sacred Land Stewardship will be taking an active role in the organization and opposition of this and any other data centers in our range. We anticipate many long and difficult battles ahead.
We will be leading a briefing session at our partnered bookshop location (849 Main St. Honesdale) starting at 4pm and then carpooling and caravanning from there. All are welcome to attend.
Please lend us your support, energy, and time at this critical and pivotal moment.
